ANIDEP (Escitalopram) 10mg Tablets

DRUG CATEGORY: Anti-Depressant (SSRI’s)

MECHANISM OF ACTION: Potentiation of serotonergic activity in the central nervous system (CNS) resulting from its inhibition of CNS neuronal reuptake of serotonin (5-HT). Escitalopram is a highly selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) with minimal effects on norepinephrine and dopamine neuronal reuptake. Anidep helps to normalize the levels of serotonin in the brain. Disturbances in the serotonin, system of the brain are key factors in the development of depression and related disorders.

INDICATIONS: Major depression.,Social anxiety disorder (social phobia). Generalised anxiety disorder. Obsessive-compulsive disorder. Panic Disorder.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: Adults 10 mg once daily, the dose may be increased to a maximum of 20 mg daily. Usually 2 – 4 weeks are necessary for antidepressant response, However, treatment of a depressive episode should be continued for a minimum of 6 months. Children and adolescents (< 18 years of age) Safety and efficacy have not been established.
